• Location: Wheeling, WV 26003 (West Virginia healthcare jobs)\n
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1820 - $1950\n
• Facility Setting: Acute Care – 6N Overflow Med/Surg Unit\n
• Unit Size: 30-bed medical surgical unit\n
• Patient Ratio: 1:6/7 (may be up to 1:7)\n
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week\n
• Shift: 12-hour rotating day/night shifts, including weekends\n
• Contract Length: 13-week travel RN assignment (Start: 11/11/2025 – End: 2/10/2026)\n
• Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse\n
• Charting System: EPIC EMR\n
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue\n

\n\nRegistered Nurse Qualifications\n

\n
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in West Virginia or compact state (multi-state nursing license accepted)\n
• Minimum 1 year of recent medical surgical (Med/Surg) nursing experience\n
• Current BLS (AHA) certification\n
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification\n
• Ability to manage patient ratios up to 1:7 in a fast-paced clinical environment\n
• Willingness to float to other hospital units as needed\n
• Submission of a valid, unexpired driver’s license required\n

\n\nMed/Surg RN Responsibilities\n

\n
• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients with conditions including CHF, COPD, cellulitis, pneumonia, urosepsis, AKI, and post-surgical cases\n
• Titrate heparin drips according to aPTT lab results\n
• Collaborate with charge nurses and patient care technicians (PCTs) for optimal patient outcomes\n
• Monitor patients using remote telemetry systems\n
• Administer intermittent BiPAP therapy as needed (no ventilator management required)\n
• Document all care and assessments accurately in EPIC electronic medical records\n
• Participate in scheduled weekend and holiday rotations\n
• Demonstrate professionalism, adaptability, and strong clinical skills in a busy healthcare setting\n
